She will be lovingly missed by her siblings Stephen (Suzanne) Williams and Robert (Laura) Williams; nieces and nephews Eric, Katie, Bobby, Barbara, and David; step-niece, Jenny; sister-in-law and best friend, Beth Eckhardt; and many friends.
She was a special aunt who was adored by her nieces and nephews. Laura loved children which drew her to a career as a special education teacher for River Valley School District in Three Oaks, MI. She was a skillful quilter. Her quilts were gifts of love, comfort, and beauty to all of those who received them. Laura was a long-time member of Bridgman Quilting Bees who made quilts for Quilts of Valor Foundation. She was also active in Country Quilters, a member of the Applique Society, and was a “Friend of the Library” at Bridgman Library for many years. Laura was a person you would not forget. She will be missed by family and friends.
A Celebration of Laura’s Life will be held on Wednesday, April 8 from 12-3 PM at the Bridgman Public Library Community Room, 4460 Lake St., Bridgman, MI 49106. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
In honor of Laura and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bridgman Public Library. Donations may also be made - at the time of Laura’s Celebration of Life ceremony - to her local quilting guild to make quilts for the Quilts of Valor Foundation.
