
He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Dawn Barnum; one son, Sheridan Butch & Melvina Bosworth; two daughters, Cheryl Boone and Bonnie Toot Komar; three grandsons, Roy Sheila Bosworth, Shawn Christy Carroll, Bryan Brenda Dykstra; one granddaughter, Michele Bosworth; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, grandson, Jeffrey Bosworth and granddaughter, Dawn Marie Carroll.
Mr. Bosworth was a veteran of World War II, landing on Omaha Beach on D-Day with the 5th Engineers Brigade. He served in the military from 1942 to 1945.
He was also a well known and very talented musician and had a band for over four decades that played locally. He loved Big Band music and Dixieland as well as old standards, and he could play them all. He never learned how to read music, but he could play anything by ear.
He retired from Michigan Wheel in 1984, where he worked as a machinist for 29 years.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date.
A family visitation will take place on Sunday, July 3, 2005, from 2 to 4 PM at the Cook Funeral Home West Building, 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kent County Humane Society.
