Leona L. Peglow, age 83 of Fultonville, NY, passed away peacefully February 10, 2025 in Grand Rapids, MI after a brief illness. At Leona's request, there will be no formal service. A family celebration of her life will be held in the summer in her favorite place - Eagle Bay, NY. Some of her most joyful times were the 13 years she ran her flower and vegetable stand "Leo-nas" in Eagle Bay. Many will remember all the jams and goodies she was known for! She loved to bake and we will all miss the Christmas cookies and candies she shared!
Most recently, she enjoyed making her corn tassel wreaths and working with the quilting ladies to make lap quilts for the nursing homes in the Fultonville area. She loved our Lord and had a strong faith that carried her through many ups and downs. Most of all, she loved her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Leona is survived by her daughters Patti (John) Pountney, Sam (Chris) Hernigle, Annette Harford; sons Eddie (Tara) Harford, Bobby (MaryJane) Harford; siblings Bernice Malcolm, Harry (Bertha) Peglow, Kathy (Ben) Beauchamp, Sharan (George) Lord, Marylou Adams; grandchildren Brianne, Cari, Josh, Ashley (Ethan), Christopher, Cody, Cheyenne (Derek), Dawson (Ashlee), Garrett, Ella, Jesse May, Aden, Mckenzie, Jon, and Ethan; great-grandchildren Ethan, Gavin, Garrett, Raychael, Hailey, Zechariah, Connor, Logan, Lillian, Oliver, Atticus, Colt, Hope, Mya, and Tobias; and many loving friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Leona was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Martha Peglow and sister, Shirley Hollaert.
