

Magdalena Zamarripa, age 71, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alberto Zamarripa; father, Juan Barron Ortiz; and sister, Minerva Ortiz Castillo. She is survived by her children Albert Jr. Zamarripa, Emmanuel (Christine) Zamarripa, and favorite daughter, Angel (Ruben) Ceballos; grandchildren Ashley Guillermo (Michael Casiano), Audrianna (LeMont) Chandler, Albert Zamarripa III (Meghan Garcia), Adan Zamarripa, Allyssa Zamarripa, Christian Zamarripa, Emmanuel Zamarripa Jr., Rafael Cornejo, Giovanni Cornejo, Esperanza Cornejo, Romeo Cornejo, Isabella Ceballos, Teresa Ceballos, Julius Ceballos; great-grandchildren Alyjah and LeMont Jr. Chandler, Antero Reyes, Anayzia, Michael Jr. Aryiel, Destiny Casiano and Alia Elise Zamarripa, Adonis James Zamarripa, Koah Zamarripa; mother, Maria de Jesus Ortiz; siblings Adolfo Garcia, Juan (Diana) Garcia, Rosa Ortiz, Maria (Michael) DeVault, Rosalinda Gibson, Norma (Robert) Ybarra, Maria Dolores (Jose) Torres; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Magdalena was a loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked as a wonderful, caring, loving stay-at-home mother. She was a faithful member of St. Pius X Church. Magdalena loved gardening, cooking, bowling, and spending time with her family. She was a cancer fighter for 20 plus years. She was a strong, sweet loving person. She was truly a warrior.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan 49418, with a Rosary held at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2023 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 10 - 11 a.m. prior to Mass.
