Marty is for me, the definition of everything it means to be a gentleman. Kind, compassionate, full of character, smart, funny, adventurous, devout, loyal...everything that defines a perfect role model. I am lucky to have had two strong fatherly role models in my life who lit a path. While I don't think I will ever meet the standard that Marty set, I will continue to try. I am sure he is in a better place and in God's care; he is one of the best. Mary, you have my thoughts, prayers and love; always. I will miss Marty tremendously. Tom

During the mid-70s Marty and I shared an office in the engineering division of Lear Seigler, on Eastern avenue, Grand Rapids. Marty was one of the most gentle and intelligent people I ever had the privilege of working with. We used to kid him about his property on Hall Street: It made money for him with oil, natural gas, then fill for the Ford Freeway, and the plotting for homes. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
 When the Israelis went looking world-wide for an engineering group to up date their A-4 and F-4 aircraft they found Lear Seigler Grand Rapids the best in the world. And Marty was one of the key engineers on the team.
 Genius never came in a nicer package. We'll greatly miss him

To the Story Family: I am so sorry for your loss. . . . but I am grateful for the beautiful life that Martin lived and that he shared his considerable gifts with so many people over the years. I feel blessed to have been able to spend a little time with Martin and Mary in these last few months and they always made me feel very special - what a gift that is! We were saddened to hear of Martin's passing. But, our memories of the Story family always make us smile. Martin's joy of singing in the choir was always evident on Sunday mornings. We enjoyed hearing him sing. We send our prayers to the family. God Bless.

So sorry to learn of the passing of Martin Story. I have many good memories of the times our family enjoyed at Grandville UM Church. The Story and Dix families were always kind and welcoming,.....wonderful people! My sympathies to all in the passing of Martin.
