Marva Christine Hippensteel

HIPPENSTEEL Zoe – Marva Christine Hippensteel, born May 3, 1927, loving wife of Von J. Hippensteel, who preceded her in death March 14, 2005 passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. She will be deeply missed by her family, daughters Marva "Babe" and Jeremy Hickman, Marcia and William "Bill" DeVries; grandchildren, Shanna McCarthy, Tobin Jodi Hickman, Tatum Barron Berger, Traci Michael Simon, Heather Andrew Brown, Hilary Adam Jones, Regan Katie DeVries, and Nicholas DeVries; great grandchildren, Griffin and Maeve McCarthy, Tobin C. "TC" and Ty Hickman, Fiona Berger, Rosemary "Rosebud" and Thatcher Simon, Isaiah, Gabriel, and Sophia DeVries, Stephanie, Spencer and Millicent Brown, Elizabeth, Morgan, and Patrick Jones; sister, June Zoe Koopmans; brother-in-law, Orren Carol Hippensteel; sisters-in-law, Frances Jack Beckett, and Kathleen Jack Hull; and many loving nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.

She enjoyed playing bingo all over Michigan and Florida, and never said "no" to a trip to Manistee, Traverse City, or Mount Pleasant. Golf was her sport along with bowling, although she used to brag about her croquet game. Watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in sports was a total enjoyment for her and she even enjoyed watching them practice. She loved computer games and would play and sing one oldie after another for hours. We will miss her singing and her love.

The funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday at the Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville East Building. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a charitable donation to Hospice of Michigan and/or American Diabetes Association.
