Mary Joan Zinger

ZINGER Mrs. Mary Joan Zinger, age 80, went home to be with Jesus and to be reunited with her dear husband of 59 years, Henry, on Thursday, August 4, 2011. She will be deeply missed by her children, Linda and Gary DeKock, Sandra and Nelson Capestany, Maureen and Mark Geerlings, and Brenda VanderArk; grandchildren, Alisun DeKock, Sara (Brent) Walter, Susan (Aaron) Bailey, David (Ruth) Capestany, Joel (Jen) Geerlings, Emily, Jonathan, and Timothy Geerlings, Katherine (Michael) VanDerLaan, and Christopher VanderArk; great grandchildren, Gabriel, Ainsley and Samuel Harris, Anaiya, Landon, and Selah Bailey, Annalise and Joshua Capestany, and Kayla Geerlings; sister and brother, Jean (Gordon) Weemhoff, and Henry (Judi) Mulder; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Carol Hirdes. Mary will be remembered for her heart for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a great love for music and especially enjoyed playing her piano.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 11 AM at her church, Second Byron Center Christian Reformed Church7588 Byron Center Ave., Byron Center with Pastor John Douma officiating. Interment will be at Kent Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet Mary's family Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center Chapel, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center.
