Merrill James Forbes

FORBES Merrill James Forbes, age 89, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, October 18, 2012. He was preceded in death by his first wife, June (Isbell) Forbes, great-grandson, Brian Forbes, and step-grandson, Konner Kohlhaas. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Kohlhaas) Forbes, his children, Diane L. Forbes, Steve and Kathy Forbes, David and Deborah Forbes, James and Lu Ann Forbes, John and Cathy Forbes; stepchildren, Kelvin and Julie Kohlhaas, Janet Stanke, Gary Kohlhaas and Marie Gaspari, Phillip and Paula Kohlhaas, Michael and Colleen Kohlhaas; his 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews. Merrill was in the United States Marine Corps during WWII, where he served in Okinawa and China. He worked at Lear Sigler Incorporated for 43 years.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, October 22, at Cook Funeral Home in Jenison, 1889 Baldwin St. with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be at Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Sunday, October 21, at Cook Funeral Home in Jenison.
