Michael Jon Hoekstra Sr.

Michael Jon Hoekstra Sr., age 63, of Middleville, MI, went to be with his Lord, Friday, September 23, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father Douglas Lee Hoekstra and mother-in-law Jean Czarnecki.

He will be remembered by his loving wife of 44 years, Bonnie Hoekstra; children Mike (Stephanie) Hoekstra Jr., Mark (Heather) Hoekstra; grandchildren Emily Jean, David, Henry, Caroline; mother Charlotte Hoekstra; siblings Doug (Vickie) Hoekstra, twin-sister Mary (Loren) Shuman; sisters-in-law Mary Choroszucha and Danne Mae (David) Bissard; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son…who will be missed. He was an avid outdoorsman, handyman, retiree of the City of Grand Rapids and proud member of the GREIU, as well as an active Men’s Club member of SSC&M church. The family would like to give a special thank you to Aaron.

A time to meet Mike’s family will be from 5-8PM, Tuesday, September 27, 2016 with rosary at 7:30PM at Cook Funeral Home (West Building) 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI. A memorial mass will be held at 11AM, Monday, October 3, 2016 at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church – 159 131st Ave, Wayland, MI. Father Alphonse Savarimuthu will be officiating.
