Michele Ruth Carpenter, age 80 of Grandville, went to be with the Lord Friday April 14, 2023, with her family at her bedside, after a brave battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Rosemary Hill; brother, Ron Hill; and nephew; Steve Hill. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bill; daughters Nicole (Todd) Crossley and Shannon (Dave Rininger) Carpenter; grandchildren Clara, Sophie, and Ellie; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She worked as a receptionist at Durametallic Corp in Kalamazoo and, while raising her daughters, ran a daycare from home and had a home-based Shaklee business. Michele enjoyed knitting, sewing, and creating things for her family. She loved traveling and spending time outdoors, and years wintering in Arizona. She was strong in her Catholic faith; she enjoyed reading the Bible and participating in Bible study. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was the family caretaker always helping those in need.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2023 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI, with a visitation time from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Michele's family would like to give a special thank you to Faith Hospice for their loving care and support.
