

Mildred Jean Vanderwall, age 88, went to be with her Lord Monday, January 17, 2022. Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Vanderwall; parents Peter and Gertrude Clement; and her brothers and sisters. She will be remembered by her children Doug (Lisa) Hop, Debbie (Jack) Hertel, Sue (Steve) Van’t Hof, Sherry (Marty) Debri, Nancy (Tony) Melinn, Doug (Chris) Vanderwall, and Lynne Sytsma;
16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Millie enjoyed the beach and tent camping at Holland State Park when her children were young. That love of camping and the outdoors continued on in her later years with her husband, Dale, and her grown children at Holiday Park Campground in Traverse City. Millie also loved to entertain and threw some of the best Fourth of July parties for her friends and family. She will be remembered for her warm smile and her quick wit, but especially for her love of her children, grandchildren...and her “favorite” son-in-law ( ;
Visitation with relatives and friends will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. A Celebration of Millie’s Life will take place immediately following visitation at 1 p.m. Pastor Larry Miller will be officiating. When in attendance, we kindly ask that all non-vaccinated guests wear a face covering and practice social distancing for their safety and well-being of the family. In honor of Millie and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
