
He is survived by his wife Dian; sons, Terry of Rockford and Lynn of Grand Rapids; sister Nell Scott of Newaygo; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Nina Thomas; brothers, Miner and Edward Thomas; and brother-in-law Merrill Scott.
Mike was born and raised in Wyoming Park.
He served with the US Marine Corps in WWII and Korea.
He was an officer on the Wyoming Police Force for over 29 years, retiring as Captain in 1976.
A Service Celebrating Mike’s Life will be held Saturday 11 a.m. at the Cook Memorial Chapel, Grandville 4235 Prairie St. SW - east building with Rev. Terry Hoezee officiating.
Interment will be in Grandville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville west building.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Hope On The Hill Fund.
