Orie Red Oppenhuizen

He always expressed his love for the Lord to his loved ones and witnessed to all those he met.

After serving in World War II, he owned and operated Oppenhuizen’s Produce.

Later he founded and was president of Top Distributing Company.

He loved Gun Lake Chapel and willingly served on the board for 17 years.

Orie is lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years Marian; his daughter and loving caregiver Judy Oppenhuizen; his son John Mary Oppenhuizen; their children, John Jr., Kristi and Todd Walters, Jodi T.E.A.M. Missionary in the Czech Republic, and Anne Oppenhuizen; daughter Janice Terry Brummel; their children, Joe and Monica Brummel, Julie and Russ Vander Ploeg, and Kim Brummel; two great grandchildren, Mason and Lexis Brummel; one brother Harry Oppenhuizen; one sister Helen Fred Wiseman; six brothers-in-law, Charles Dalson, Ralph McAlary, Gaylord Mary McAlary, Earl Alice McAlary, Keith McAlary, Larry Sandy McAlary; three sisters-in-law, Rita Oppenhuizen, Frances Harry Yankey, Barbara Bob Wagner; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday 11 a.m. at the Cook Memorial Chapel 4235 Prairie St. SW - east building with Pastor Everett Vander Horst of Shawnee Park Christian Reformed Church officiating.

Interment in Georgetown Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. from the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville east building.
