

He was preceded in death by his parents Maynard and Ruth Potter; in-laws Dwight and Joy Kurth; and sisters-in-law Gay Kurth and Carlene Potter.
He will be remembered by his wife of 53 years, Gloria Potter; children Todd (Stacy) Potter, Mindy (Don) Mills, and Matthew Meleen; grandchildren Lane, Ty, Aly, Jared, and Alex; siblings David Potter, Judy (Tim) West, and Mary (Bill) Peshek; sister-in-law Marsha Kurth; and many cousins, nephews and friends.
Paul enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in their activities, no matter rain or shine, and afterwards would always say “You done good!” He was a charter member and instrumental in building Georgetown United Methodist Church. Growing up in Iowa, Paul spent many years as a lifeguard at church summer camps. Paul worked in the food service industry for over 40 years and was proud of his business endeavors. He enjoyed traveling to warm climates, snorkeling, participating in armchair sports, riding in his convertible with his wife, golfing, playing softball and hosting family Christmas gatherings.
Visitation with relatives and friends will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie, S.W., Grandville, MI 49418. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Georgetown United Methodist Church, 2766 Baldwin, Jenison, MI 49428. Rev. Sherri Swanson will be officiating.
In honor of Paul and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Georgetown United Methodist Church.
