Trooper Ray Hoffman was an amazing man. He made a difference in this world. He always had a smile on his face. He cared. Because of this, our lives we're changed for the better. He was curagious and strong when times got rough. He shared that tenacity with our family , when we needed it the most, to keep fighting for truth and justice. We were so blessed to have had him in our lives. Our hearts ache for your incredible loss. He is already missed but will never ever be forgotten. We keep you and your family in our prayers. Hoffman family,Ray touched many lives and he left his mark with me with something as simple as believing that a third grader could play baseball with the sixth graders. Ray picked me to be on his team even though I was the youngest kid playing. I think that's a true testament to Ray is that he believed in people. May God bless you!

Pam and family,I was so honored to be a small part of Ray's life at MSP. He was such an example of service and resilience in the face of adversity. I grieve with you as you experience this loss and will remember all of you in my prayers that God will surround you with His grace and comfort, knowing that there is a resurrection coming when death will be no more.

Trooper Raymond Hoffman was one of my M.S.P. Explorer Advisers when I was in High School from 97-01. He was one of a kind and will be missed by all who ever had a chance to get to know him. I never became a Police Officer but Ray's impact on me was that he showed me how to be a servant to the public and how I could make a difference by just being an upstanding member in the community. Jason Wiersma and I came up with the Motto for MSP Explorer Post 2056, "Our best today for a better tomorrow." I don't know a time Trooper Hoffman didnt give us his best so that we would be better tomorrow. I dont think Jason and I realized it at the time but the motto we created was based off what Ray gave us, his coworkers, family and friends.....his best. Thank you for that Trooper Raymond Hoffman, may you rest in peace..
