Richard E. Blakely

BLAKELY - Richard E. Blakely, age 91, of Wyoming, was born April 6, 1923 and went to be with his Lord Saturday, February 7, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lettie Blakely, brother Karl and sister Mary Lou.

Dick was loved by wife, Ruth, of 64 years, son James (Robin) Blakely, daughters Nancy Wilson and Kathy Denton, grandkids, Chasity Wagner, Shanna (Mike) Russo, James (Stacie) Blakely, Luke and John Wilson, Kara and Kane Denton, plus eight great-grandkids.

Dick proudly served in the Navy during WWII from 1944-1946 as a Sonarman Second Class on the YMS-10 minesweeper and SC-518 subchaser. He worked at Doehler Jarvis and C&O Railroad from 1959 to 1986.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 13, at Grandville Baptist Church, 4325-40th St. SW, Grandville, MI, with visitation beginning at 10 am.
