

Richard “Dick” H. Hoffman, age 87, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018 from his daughter’s home in Holland, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Mae Hoffman; his wife, Harriette; his granddaughter, Lisa Stevens; sister and brother-in-law Audrey and Hank VanderBie; and brother, Robert Hoffman.
He leaves behind his children Jo Ann (Randy) Essenburg, Audrey (Leon) De Haan, Pat Bongard, Arlene (Mike) Feuerstein, Richard A. (Brenda) Hoffman, John (Brenda) Hoffman; grandchildren Brenda (Ben) Seitz, Cindy (Gary) Wendlowsky, Andrew (Kate) De Haan, Amy De Haan, Rick Scott, Mindi Feuerstein, Sara O’Bryan, Steve (Jessica) Feuerstein, Lukus Hoffman, Josie (Ryan) Howard, Robert Hoffman, Tim (Kristen) Hoffman, Rachel (Ben) Raak; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Carol) Hoffman, sisters and brother- in-law Carol Hoffman, Lucille Sytsema, Martha (Dan) Derogee; and many nieces and nephews.
Dick worked 35 years for Consumers Power. He and Harriette moved from Jenison to Hardy Dam after he retired in 1985. They wintered many years in Port Isabel, Texas. Dick loved books. He would get nine books at the library every time he went and they would usually be read before they were due back.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville. There will be a family sharing time at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
