SHAFFER Mr. Robert Roy Shaffer, age 86, went to be with his Lord, Friday, March 14, 2014. Bob was born November 15, 1927, in Detroit, MI, son of Chester and Orpha (Allar) Shaffer. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Linda McGarry.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 69 years, Jean; children, Bill and Jeanne Shaffer, and Karen and Rev. Peter Adams; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Kay (Norm) VanHorn, Betty Westra, and Marian Westra; and nieces and nephews.
His memorial service will be held Friday, 11 AM at the Cook Memorial Chapel (east building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, with Rev. Peter Adams officiating. Relatives and friends may meet his family Friday from 10 AM until the time of his service at the chapel. His family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book at www.cookcares.com. Contributions in memory of Bob may be made to Faith Hospice.
