
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary; and his brother Walter.
He will be missed by his wife Jean Goeman Ochsankehl; his daughter MaryAnn John Britton; his grandchildren, J. Aaron and Anna; his brother William D. JoAnn Ochsankehl; his step-children, Linda Rick Smith, Dale Goeman, Cheryl Michael Domagalski, Roger Malyn Goeman, and Laura Mark Pontus; his step grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Bud Jane Voorhees, Helen Arno Dykstra, Reatha Duke Warsen, and Harold Joanne Voorhees; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Russell was a WW II veteran who was attached to the C B I Theater.
He spent many years working in the advertising field.
After leaving that field he touched many lives as a social worker.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie St SW - east building with Pastor Ryan Veeneman of New Hope Church officiating.
Interment will be at Fairplains Cemetery.
The family will meet with relatives and friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville west building.
Memorial contributions may be made to the West Michigan Spina Bifida Association.
