Ruth Ann Burgess

BURGESS (HUIZINGA) Ruth Ann Burgess, age 54, of Byron Center, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, October 23, 2012, after a year-long battle with breast cancer. Her family surrounded her while she peacefully passed away under the care of Faith Hopsice. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dan Huizinga. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 34 years, Larry Burgess; her children, Brenda (Sean) Ezell, Timothy Burgess, Alisa Burgess (fiancAC. Brandt Eisenga); her grandchildren, Caleb and Alexis Ezell and Sawyer Burgess; her parents, Fred and Alice Huizinga; her siblings, Richard (Terri) Huizinga, Jack (Melissa) Huizinga, Jan (Daryle) Kuiper; her siblings-in-law, Carol Huizinga, Elaine (Jim) Bolthouse, Verna (Norm) DeVries, Mary (Paul) Hondorp, and many nieces, nephews and friends . Ruth worked as an Executive Assistant in the Byron Township offices for many years. Her family will always cherish the memories of their last minute road trips and calls to come see a sunset. She loved to shop, especially for Swarovski crystal.

Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM Friday at Reformed Church of Corinth, 129 - 100th St. SE. Funeral services will be held 3:30 PM Saturday at Reformed Church of Corinth. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery. In honor of Ruth, contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
