

She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her children, Bob and Elaine Post, Gary and Beth Post, Cher and Cliff Dykstra, Sally and Jerry Pols, Tom and Carol Post, Joy and Doug Lutke, Pam and Joe Koperski, Kris and Dennis Helmholdt, Sue and Terry Mulder, Renee and Dave Potgeter; her 36 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren (with four more on the way), and one great-great-grandchild; her sisters, Maxine and Odie DeJonge, Velma and Al VanderKlay; and her sisters-in-law, Louise and Richard Zeeff, Shirley VerBeek, Juella VanDam, and Clare Kapteyn; and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, John; brothers, Clayton, Donald, and Marvin “Red” Brummel; her sisters, Beatrice Wassink, Irene DeBoer; and her great-grandchildren, Shawn Jr., Samara and Aliza.
Ruth was an encouraging, hardworking lady with the gift of hospitality. She volunteered in many organizations throughout the years. Ruth's love for Jesus impacted her family in countless ways.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, and 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center, 2067 – 84th St., S.W. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, at First Christian Reformed Church of Byron Center, 8541 Byron Center Avenue, S.W., Byron Center. Interment will be at Dorr Cemetery.
In honor of Ruth, contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or Byron Center Christian School.
