Shirley Wierstra, age 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, September 22, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Lena Stites; husband, Edwin Wierstra; son, Robert Wierstra. She is survived by her children Mike (Debby) Wierstra and Sue (Denny) Avery; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Shirley spent 30 years working as a nurse, a job she loved. She loved to sew and had a passion for making quilts. Shirley also loved the Christmas time of year and could often be found watching a Hallmark movie.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, at Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guestbook online.
