Stanley A. Davis

Stan Davis Sr., age 85 of Grandville, Michigan, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, August 17, 2024, surrounded by his family. Stan grew up in Grandville, where he graduated from Grandville High School in 1957. He received an associate degree from Grand Rapids Community College. He married Marie, the love of his life, in 1962, and they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in July. Stan worked in the tool and die field and in machinery sales for many years. He was elected President of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers in 1994, a role he was honored to hold. He operated his own business, Technical Concepts, Inc., for several years before semi-retiring and working as a realtor at Greenridge.

Stan was known and beloved by his family and friends for his wonderful sense of humor, his kindness, and his love for his family. Stan was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid hunter for many years, and he enjoyed traveling, boating, golfing with friends, and spending time camping at The Pines with his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and could often be heard loudly supporting his grandchildren at their special events. Stan endured many serious health struggles over the past several years, yet he showed his inner strength and stubbornness time and time again, allowing his family to enjoy more time with him here on Earth. He will be dearly missed.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents Minnie and Norm Davis; mother- and father-in-law Sarah and Vito Ferrante; and sister-in-law, Sandy Davis. He is survived by Marie, his loving wife of 62 years; children Kristine (Mark) Chappell, Michelle (Michael) Zink, and Stan (Marcie) Davis Jr.; grandchildren Danielle (Sam), Trent, Eric (Mckenzie), Trevor (Myka), Jared (Lizzy), Vince, Brandon, and Jade; great-grandchildren Ezekiel, Evelyn, Jackson, Chloe, and Valerie; brothers Russ, Al, and Dean (Lynn) Davis; sister-in-law, Cathy (Jim) VanDyke; bonus grandchildren Kirk and Lauren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2024, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, Michigan 49418. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stan’s memory may be sent to St. Pius X Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
