Thelma Janis Rouse

Thelma “Janis” Rouse, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, February 26, 2025. She was born August 11, 1934 in Allegan, MI to Walter and Thelma Morris. Janis graduated from Allegan High School in 1952. She attended Trinity College and Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music. She married Donald Rouse September 6, 1957 at Bloomingdale Bible Church. They were blessed with 67 years of marriage and four children. Janis was a strong, supportive, and loving wife, mom, grandma, sister, and friend. She taught Sunday school for 30 plus years. Jan supported Don in his entrepreneurial venture of AIM Systems for many years. Her legacy can be witnessed throughout the family tree that survives her.

Janis is survived by her husband, Donald Rouse; children Karri (Jack) McIntyre, Kirby (Joye) Rouse, Kelli (Marvin) Hills; grandchildren Kristin (Jason) Buskey, Adam (Sarah) McIntyre, Jill (Nate) Humme, Angela (John) Weaver, Amanda (Mike) Elenbaas, Jacob (Zoe’) Hills, Rachel (Wyatt) Bartsch, Joshua, Zachary and Lauren Hills; great-grandchildren Zachary, Brooklin, Alexa, and Kendall Buskey, Alistair and Wesley McIntyre, Haleigh, Nolan, and Sydney Weaver, Gwendolyn, Finnegan, and Benjamin Humme, Odyn and Jada Elenbaas; siblings Earl Morris, Ron Morris, Alma VanHorn, and Susan Goldsmith; in-laws Joyce (Marty) Stevens, Stephen Rouse, Tim (Dawn) Rouse, Beth (Terry) Rogers. Janis is preceded in death by her daughter, Kristi Joy Rouse; granddaughter, Kayla Jeanne Hills; siblings Virginia VanHorn and Marie Damber; in-laws Ella Fiskars, Ruth Simington, Maxine Hawkins, and Paul Rouse.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Grace Bible Church, 3715 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 2-2:45 p.m. prior to service. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guestbook online.
