

He was born March 12, 1953 in Grand Rapids, MI to Vincent and Constance E. (King) Alighire. He graduated high school in 1973 from Grandville, MI and joined the US Navy and spent his time of service stateside supporting the troops from Corpus Christi, TX. After returning to Grand Rapids, he worked hard at the jobs he held in the service industries, including the food industry. He became a cook for many events and loved to cook and bake, especially his mother’s pineapple upside down cake recipe.
Vince was introduced by his pastor to Denice Hood on April 8, 1984 and courted her throughout the year, and they married January 12, 1985. He and Denice adopted two sons, Richard and Jonathon. His boys knew he was the greatest dad who ever lived!
Vince loved his Lord and Savior, who saved him from his sins. He loved his family and friends and showed God’s love to young and old alike as he helped them however he could. He shared his faith in Christ with his words and actions. He was an ardent bowler, achieving one 300 game while participating in multiple leagues each season, and he enjoyed watching FOX News every day.
Vince was preceded in death by parents Vincent and Constance E. (King) Alighire and brothers Jamie and Vincent R. Alighire. He is survived by his wife, Denice; three sons Richard Alighire, Jonathan Alighire, Chad (Lisa) Dunham; sisters Barbara (James) Lawley, Teresa (Mike) Rens; brother, Christopher Alighire; special friends Jack Butts and the Mullennax family; grandsons David, Dominic, and Dillan Roby; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation and memorial service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025 at GR Church, 4525 Stauffer Ave. SE, Kentwood, MI 49512. Visitation will be in the lobby from 10:00 - 10:50 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. in the auditorium.
