

CARTER Wendell "Warren" Carter, age 79, of Jenison, MI passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014. He was born on December 21, 1934 and grew up in Blue Hill, ME. Warren graduated from George Stevens Academy. He moved to Bucksport where he was employed for 37 years at St. Regis Paper Co. / Champion International. For 20 years, Warren served on the Central Maine Committee of Child Evangelism Fellowship. In 1990 after retiring from the mill, he and his wife moved to Michigan. His part-time jobs in Michigan included Big Top Market in Wyoming and D&W in Grandville. He loved to entertain people with his strong Maine accent which he never lost.
Warren is survived by his wife of 58 years, Althea (Hendsbee) Carter; his children Sharon (the late Daryl) Pedde, Miriam Carter, Janice (Daniel) Moxley, Daniel (Ruth) Carter and Mary Esther (Nick) Oldenkamp; his grandchildren Erin (John) Steube, Meredith (Timothy) White and Andrew Pedde; Hannah, Daniel, Caleb, Sarah, Joshua, Abigail, and Jerusha Moxley; Jacob and Alexandra Carter; Emily and Kyle Oldenkamp; sister Lorraine Lounder. He was predeceased by his parents Lena and Wendell Carter and step-sisters Rita and Dorothy.
A memorial service will be held at 2PM, Monday, December 22, 2014 with visitation one hour prior at 1PM, Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building) - 4235 Prairie St SW, Grandville, MI. Pastor Garry Koon will be officiating. Following the funeral, a gathering of friends and family will take place at Georgetown Bible Church, 4114 Baldwin Street, Hudsonville.
