Wilfred John Jansen

JANSEN - Mr. Wilfred 'Bill' Jansen, age 71 peacefully went to his Heavenly home on Monday, October 29, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a wonderful, caring, giving husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 46 years Hermina 'Hermie' King; his children, Dan and Brenda Jansen, Doug and Cindy Jansen, Robert and Denise Gritter and Doug and Darlynn Mesman. He was a wonderful grandpa to his nine grandchildren, who each had a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Eleanor Jansen; his sister Teresa VanStadum; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Anna VanderWal, Cobie King, Hank and Harriet Koetje, and Sid and Betty King; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was a charter member of Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church. His desire was to help his children and others. He volunteered his time for the M.M.O.R.E. missions, and spent winters in Arizona using many of his God-given talents for Wycliff Bible Translators.

Funeral services will be held Friday 11 a.m. at Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church with Pastor John Joldersma and Rev. Leonard Hofman officiating.

The family will meet with relatives and friends at the Cook Funeral Home - Jenison Chapel 1889 Baldwin St. on Wednesday and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Ridgewood M.M.O.R.E missions, or Wycliff Bible Translators.
