

Originally from Southport, England, Bill will be best known for his witty sense of humor and unforgettable charm. He studied as an apprentice in the tool and die trade in England, before coming to America in 1967. Bill worked at McInerney Spring and Wire, and then moved to General Motors as a tool and die maker, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed playing soccer and watching sports of all kind. He adored his family, and was very active in his church. Bill lit up the room with his presence, his jokes, and his British accent. He was loved and admired by many.
Bill is survived by his wife, Bonnie Jean Johnson, and children, Susan (Dean) Childers, Linda (Anthony) Coffee, Steven Ellison, Scott (Kathryn) Ellison, Kathy Lynn Ellison, and Michael Samel; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many close friends and other family.
Visitation with the family will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 16 at the Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St., SW, Grandville. Funeral services will be held to celebrate Bill’s life at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 17, at Banner of Christ Community Church, 1111 - 68th Street, S.W., Byron Center.
