

She was born on October 23, 1942 in Pipestone, MN to Gerard and Hattie (DeMots) Mesman. Wilma would marry the love of her life, Richard L. Olson, on October 6, 1962. She was a beautician for almost 25 years, and then helped her husband with his Snap-on Tool business. She was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church of Byron Center. Wilma loved traveling and spending time with her family . . . and puzzles! Her favorite holiday was Christmas.
Wilma is survived by her three daughters and two sons-in-law - Lynette Gross, Teresa (Timothy) Beals, and Tammy (Fred) Shepherd; three sisters and one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law Johanna Berghuis, Betty Grimmius, and Josephine (Ed) Windemuller, Jerry Palmateer, and June (Glenn) Matthes; five grandchildren Timothy (Amber Brown) Blackwell, Melissa Blackwell, Christina Breen, Jordan (Paige) Breen, and Paige Gross.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers Gerard and John Mesman; three sisters Lillian Gritter, Evelyn Palmateer, and Angeline Bosma; and son-in-law, Jerry Gross.
Visitation with friends and relatives will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 - 84th Street, Byron Center, MI 49315. Visitation will be held at Second Christian Reformed Church of Byron Center, 7588 Byron Center Ave., S.W., Byron Center, MI 49315 from 10 - 11 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017, with her funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery, Byron Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mission India, 1142 44th Street SE, Kentwood, MI 49508.
