Joanne Parkhill

Joanne was born in South Gate Ca to Wayne and Frieda Barnett. She attended school in Ca and graduated from Grants Pass High School in Grants Pass Or in1951. She married Robert Parkhill August 22, 1959. Joanne was a secretary at the old South Junior High School until their move to Roseburg in 1974.

Joanne was again a secretary at Roseburg High School until her retirement. Bob and JoAnne enjoyed camping and fishing. She especially enjoyed playing bingo. They enjoyed their retirement time together until Bob's passing in January 2016.

She is survived by her daughters Peggy Helms, Darcy Parkhill, and Jani Smart and their spouses Eddie Helms and Ron Smart. 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and special Bingo Buddy, Rachel Smart Parker. One daughter, Linda Collison, preceded her in death.

We would like to thank the staff at Taylor House, Deloris and the ladies, for their kindness and care these last 2 years. Also the staff at Hospice and especially Rachael, who took great care making her last days pleasant.

Friends and Family are invited to funeral services to honor JoAnne's life this Friday, February 27th, at 11:00 AM being held at Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home in Grants Pass, Oregon. A private burial will be held at Hawthorne Cemetery in Grants Pass will immediately follow funeral services.
