A year ago, a very special and appreciated fellow Emergency Management professional took his journey into the heavens. His ways and smiles will always be missed. He continues to live in our hearts and memories. Someday, we shall chat again old friend.

My deepest condolences to the family. I was fortunate enough to have met Tracy a while back and to work with him as a fellow tribal representative within Emergency Management and to both attend trainings and conferences where he passionately showed how much he cared about fostering stronger partnerships and relationships between the many worlds that we live within. As a fellow trainer, he was awesome! His actions impacted the future to make life better for our people. He will be deeply missed. But, he has left behind a strong legacy of the journey that we need to continue on..... in his memory...and for our future generations that he so much cared for.  Semper Fidelis, Tracy!

Tracy was so passionate and intelligent. I had many opportunities to work with him over the years.  I frequently touted the excellent work he was doing to improve the tribe's resilience to climate change. He was supporting  studies of growing olives on tribal land to transition from anticipated declines in cultural berry picking due to warming temperatures. The olives would not only grow well in warmer temperatures, they would also foster cultural values and provide a potential new financial driver for the tribe. 

Tracy cared so much about the tribe and the environment. So many people learned from him, his legacy will continue for years to come.  

Tracy was a leader in emergency management, always willing to mentor and support newcomers. He provided a wealth of institutional knowledge and expertise. I will miss his presence and contributions.  Sending love to Beth.  You are loved and supported. 

My deepest condolences to Tracy's loved ones. Tracy was a giant in the Emergency Management community. I met Tracy as a newcomer to Oregon in my role with the Red Cross. He took the time to sit and talk with me and I was struck by his compassion and his heart for the community.  He'll be sorely missed. 

Beth, I am sorry to hear of Tracy's passing. Please know you are in Larry's and my thoughts. I hope our paths cross again someday.

I am so incredibly sad to hear of Tracy's  passing.  I met Tracy through my employer, Silke Communications, when he contacted us   in his role with Cow Creek, and he quickly became one of our favorite people.  He was such a nice man and we had many conversations that included some good laughs. I will miss being able to visit with him. My condolences to his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by many.  

Please accept my sincere condolences. As a newby to Oregon via Montana and a few other places from South Africa taking over a partially defunct position as Coos county PHEP I met Tracy at the Region Healthcare Coalition conferences and he took the time to not only welcome me to my new role but specifically to Oregon and our region. In the short time I knew him he was always a gentleman and consumate professional adding value in whatever he did. You will be missed but remembered. RIP Tracy.

I met Tracy through a FEMA HQ hazard mitigation work group and Tracy was one of the 3 tribal representatives.  He was a super listener and when he spoke, his ideas and thoughts resonated with the working group.  He was so intelligent and down-to-earth and fun to be around.  I will miss our professional and personal chats and will always have fond memories of our interactions.  He was always looking out for the tribes and locals, which was very refreshing for this state guy :).  My condolences to his family, friends and co-workers and to all the folks who knew him; whom he represented and loved whole-heartedly.   You are not gone-you are with us still us - in our minds and hearts - you will be with us to continue to make the world a better place - Until we get to meet again my friend....

To the family and friends of Mr Tracy DePew, I am so so sorry for your loss. I had the honor of knowing Tracy for his work representing Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians. While I am completely devastated to hear Tracy has passed on, I am so happy that I was able to know him.  He profoundly inspired me in the way he communicated with others, respected people for all that they are, and honored the tribal members he worked for and in the nations beyond every day.  He demonstrated a grace that was just one of a kind. I am so sad that I was never able to visit Oregon and see the great work Tracy was doing.  I will try every day to be a little like Tracy in my own work and life.

I met Tracy when I joined PeaceHealth in June of 2015.  He was an EMT as well as the Emergency Manager. After he moved closer to home to serve on the Reservation, I took his place but never filled his shoes.  My memories of Tracy will always be that of a wise and learned man who cared deeply for others, loves his wife and family, and always looked to serve those who needed help the most.

He will be missed beyond measure. You leave a void in the fields of EMS and Emergency Management that will not be able to be filled.

Sleep well, Brother. We'll take it from here.
