Born on March 20, 1947, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Leeland Roy Sanders and Willie Faye Martin.
In her professional life, Carole worked at Bates Container for many years, where she not only excelled in her work but also formed lifelong friendships with her colleagues. Her warm and caring nature made her a beloved member of the workplace community.
However, Carole’s true calling came in the early 1990’s when she decided to become a foster parent. For over 20 years, she selflessly opened her heart and home to children in need, providing them with a stable and loving environment. Carole dedicated herself to their well-being, offering not only material support but also emotional guidance and unconditional love. Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of countless children, many of whom now call her “Mom” themselves, a testament to the profound impact she had on their lives.
Carole’s faith in God brought her peace and tranquility, knowing that her true home resided in Heaven. As an active member of the Open Range Cowboy Church of Whitney, she discovered a sanctuary where her faith blossomed. Carole engaged wholeheartedly in church activities, finding serenity, worship, and building meaningful relationships with fellow believers. The Open Range Cowboy Church became a source of spiritual nourishment and growth for Carole, allowing her faith to flourish.
Beyond her devotion to family and faith, Carole had an extraordinary passion and talent for cooking, and her culinary skills were legendary among her family and friends. Carole’s kitchen was a place of magic, where she effortlessly transformed simple ingredients into delicious masterpieces. Her meals were not just about nourishment; they were an expression of love and care. She found joy and fulfillment in preparing meals for others, knowing that each bite would bring comfort, healing, and a sense of belonging.
Carole is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Jeffrey; her daughter, Kimberly Keen; her son, Shawn Geren; 9 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Donna Brezina.
During this difficult time, the Ott family would like to express their gratitude for the love, support, and prayers extended to them. Carole’s impact on their lives and the lives of many others is immeasurable, and her memory will forever be cherished.
