Not happy with retirement, Cathy went on to work for another 20 years with Hallmark Greeting Cards until the Covid pandemic in 2020, with her last official day of work the day after her 89th birthday.
Catherine loved the Lord and her faith was very important to her. She enjoyed reading all types of history, and especially American history. She loved to dance and sing, spending time with her friends and family either in person, on the phone or via FaceTime. She loved the oldies, including Frank Sinatra and the Big Bands of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Catherine enjoyed watching TV, with some of her favorite shows being The Wheel of Fortune, and Wednesday “Chicago Night”.
Catherine’s memory lives on in her daughter, Susan Bates, grandchild Breanna (Caleb) Bates-Franklin, niece Pamela (Red) Pierce, nephews Mike (Phyllis) Ergo, Kenneth (Helen) Kent, Dennis (Lenetta) Lewis and Mark (Patrizia) Ergo. Catherine is preceded in death by her mother Philippa, her father Peter, and 9 brothers and sisters.
