

Dorothy Larsen 92, passed away October 30,2016 in Denton, Texas. Committal Service will be held at 10:15 am in Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery (lane B) on December 1, 2016. Dorothy was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas on March 10, 1924 . She attended and graduated from Wyandotte High School. It was there she met her lifelong love, Jack Aubertin Larsen. The two were married on June 3, 1943 and were together for 66 years until Jack’s death in 2009. As a wife of a Navy Lieutenant commander Dorothy lived a busy life travelling to many United States military bases while raising their five children. As a result, she was quite involved in the children’s school and social activities as well as enjoying a number of social, civic, and church activities herself. She was an active bridge player, enjoyed music and played the organ, collected Danish plates, sewed, delivered meals on wheels, worked at the hospital gift store, and volunteered at the church library. Dorothy and Jack spent much of their retired life in Springdale Arkansas and cherished the years they lived there. In 2005 they moved to Texas where she lived for the past twelve years. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Aubertin Larsen. She is survived by her five children; Carol Ann Diano of El Dorado, California, Don Frederick Larsen of Porter, Texas, Jack Alan Larsen of Palm Desert, California, Gary Byron Larsen of Green Valley, Arizona, and Tana Lynn Roche of Flower Mound, Texas. Dorothy had 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made as a tribute/memorial in the name of Dorothy Delores Larsen to the Alzheimer’s Association found via the web atwww.alz.org.
