Harvey was born on June 15, 1932 in Snyder, TX to Joseph and Ira Poindexter - their fifth of five children. He was known as the “terror of Forth Stockton” for his hot rodding around town. In 1953, he met the love of his life, Edith Louise Woods there while working on the oil rigs. They were married for 66 years. He was a devoted husband, father, father in law, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle, and dog owner. He had a caring heart and was the type of man who would always be there to help someone be it family, friend, or even stranger. He enjoyed traveling, playing games, and spending time with family and friends.
Harvey lived in Granbury, TX for 28 years, and was employed at Comanche Peak power plant for 10+ of those years.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ira Poindexter and his siblings, Ardis Springer, Polly Galloway, Pinky Harris, and John Poindexter as well as the second love of his life - Reddy dog.
Survivors: Loving wife, Louise Poindexter; children, Cheryl Schuerg of Richland Hills, TX; Cherri Ramirez of Euless, TX; Dee A. Henson and husband, Michael of Southlake, TX; 7 Grandchildren; 5 Great-Grandchildren.
