

Venus Jeanette Thrash, 85, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in Grapevine, Texas, on Sunday, January 7, 2024, with her daughters by her side. She was born on October 29, 1938, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to the late Lee Norris and Mamie (Ferrell) Norris.
Jeanette had a vivacious and loving personality. She was known for her happy demeanor and her love for others. Throughout her life, Jeanette had a wide range of careers, including building jet engines at Tinker AFB, working as an orthodontic assistant in Oklahoma City, and most recently serving as a library assistant at Cross Timbers Middle School in Grapevine. She cherished her interactions with the students every day.
In her free time, Jeanette enjoyed various hobbies. She enjoyed tending to her yard, spending time at the beach, and most of all, being with her family. Playing with her great-grandchildren brought her immense joy and happiness.
Jeanette is survived by her loving daughters, Teri Cochran and husband George, Lesli Ware, and husband Vic, and Kristi Scott and husband Keith. She will also be affectionately remembered by her granddaughters, Ashli Morris, Stefani Donaldson and husband Jeff, Hayli Dorety and husband Ryan, Kyrbi Martinez and husband Andrew, Kyli Duvall and husband James, as well as her great-grandchildren, Rubi Morris, Logan and Luke Donaldson, Cooper and Harper Dorety, many nieces and nephews, and dear friend and neighbor of forty years, Tim Guyton.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Thrash, and her parents, Lee Norris and Mamie Norris. She was also preceded by her brothers, Doyle Norris, Lee Norris Jr., Billy Norris; her sisters, Doris Hennessey, Bertha Wingard, Mottie Schott, Rogene Wingo, and Rebecca DeWitt.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on January 19, 2024, at 10:30 am, followed directly by a memorial service at 11:30 am at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home in Grapevine, Texas. The burial will take place at 1:00 pm at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
