Joy Mae Trant

Joy Mae Trant, 71, of Rockwall, passed away Jan 19, 2015 in Garland. She was born Nov 24, 1943 in Groves, Texas, the daughter of Howell Patrick Davis and Bessie May Riddle Davis. Joy had lived in the area for the past 4 years, moving here from Beaumont. A graduate of Texas Women’s University, Joy held a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Library Science, with a minor in English and History. She was a member of MENSA. Joy enjoyed reading, genealogy, and collecting tea sets. She was Baptist by faith. Joy was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Daston Trant; brothers, William Duffie Davis and Raymond “Bub” Davis and sisters, Alice Evelyn Davis, Patsy Jean Davis Kirk and Ella Wanell Davis Bubak. She is survived by her sons, Eric Wheeler Trant and wife Amanda of The Colony, Texas and Nathan Dewayne Trant and wife Jennifer of Rockwall, Texas; brother, J.M. Davis and wife Armaretta of Texas City, Texas; grandchildren, Cameron, Connor, Brianna, Cade and Finn; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, Jan 23, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Chapel. Interment be held Monday, Jan 26 at 2pm at the Bean Cemetery in Kirbyville, Texas.
