Karen was born on May 3, 1938, in Eldora, Iowa. She was a member of White’s Chapel in Southlake. Karen grew up on a farm helping her dad with the family farming. In her late teens, her first job was a “soda jerk” as she liked to call it, at Mark’s Pharmacy in Iowa. Her first date with Larry was at the age of 17 and they were married 2 years later on May 26, 1957. Karen and Larry’s journey began in Bingham Lake, MN and from there they moved to Prairie City, IA, and then spent over 20 years in Creston, Iowa before their move to Texas.
Karen loved spending time with friends, playing bridge, playing Up and Down the River, going to coffee and lunches and just being social. Her biggest accomplishment was raising her 2 daughters as a stay-at-home mom. She cherished her time watching her grandchildren participate in a variety of activities. Family holidays and vacations were the highlight for her every year.
Because Karen was such a patient, kind and caring individual, she was loved by many. She never knew a stranger.
Karen is survived by her husband, Larry Crosser, 2 daughters, Cindy Harper (Hal) and Sue Eckersley (Tim); 3 grandchildren, Laura Fitzgerald (Justin), Maddie Knight (Dustin) and Christopher Eckersley (Sami). Karen left her fingerprint on all of our lives, she will be deeply missed, and loved forever.
A Memorial service will take place on Wednesday May 31, 2023, 11 AM at White's Chapel Methodist Church (Grace Chapel), located at 185 S White Chapel Blvd, Southlake, TX 76092.
A Celebration of Karen's Life will ensue at The Watermere Southlake at 1 PM (at the Watermere Southlake- Clubhouse) also, on Wednesday May 31, 2023.
