Laurie was born on May 31, 1989 in St. Charles, Missouri, to Sue and Tom DeCaro. Even as a little girl, Laurie enjoyed an adventurous spirit and was very independent. She played many sports and loved being outdoors. After graduating high school, she went on to attend Community College for two years. She received her Esthetician License after training at the Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute in Dallas, Texas, where she graduated as the valedictorian of her class.
In her professional career, Laurie worked as a barista at a resort on the Oregon Coast. She then went on to work in various MedSpas in the DFW Area as an Esthetician where she learned she was a Rock Star Salesperson. She was awarded several best sales awards at Nordstrom and in the Solar Industry. Professionally, Laurie was most proud of her time spent in the solar industry because of her passion for environmental care.
When she wasn't at work, Laurie let her creativity flow. She was an accomplished artist in several mediums and enjoyed anything to do with arts and crafts. She was always known to have her colored pens and drawing tablet with her. She also liked to be active playing sports. She played volleyball for several clubs and for Carroll High School and was recruited to play college volleyball.
Laurie loved many things such as art and nature. She loved everything about nature and conservation. She enjoyed spending time at her parent's property in Southlake as well as the mountains in Colorado and Oregon. What Laurie loved the most, however, was being a mom to her two beautiful daughters, Jocelyn and Berkley. She loved being a Room Mother at Jocelyn's elementary school. Her daughters meant everything to her.
Casual friends knew Laurie to be playful and fun. Her family and close friends cherished her generosity, sincerity and honesty. Her beautiful smile could light up any room and no one gave hugs like Laurie. Those who knew her best will forever miss her warm, sincere embrace.
Laurie is preceded in death by her brother, Mike DeCaro; Grandparents Angelo and Grace DeCaro; Grandparents Albert and Mary Sparks; Aunt Linda and Uncle John LaRose, and Aunt Elizabeth DeCaro.
