Lou was born on January 13, 1933 in Flemington, NJ to parents Elizabeth Iszak (Varga) and Michael Iszak. He is predeceased by his parents.
Lou is a graduate of Flemington, High School. In 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy Aircraft division during the Korean War. He served as an aviation mechanic with the auxiliary vessel patrol on the USS Timbalier AVP54. During his first two years, his tour of duty took place in the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean and Caribbean seas. In 1953 he was reassigned to The Naval base in Lakehurst, NJ where he served as a Mechanic with Airship Squadron 3. He was Honorably discharged in 1955.
Lou successfully spent the majority of his post-naval career as a director of facilities maintenance for major manufacturing companies.
In 1954 Lou married his lifelong partner Evelyn Iszak (Seigler). In 1962 he moved his family to Roebling, NJ, where he would spend most of his life. He leaves Evelyn behind along with their four children: Debbie (Kevin) Reilly, Louis (Stephanie) Iszak, Jeffry (Sharon) Iszak, and Veronica (Kevin) Townson. He is also survived by his grandchildren Louis (Samantha) Iszak, Sean (Jaimie) Reilly, Patrick (Abigale) Reilly (great grandchildren Oliver and Eleanor) and Abby Townson. He is also survived by his only sister, Margaret Yacko.
Lou was first and foremost a loving and dedicated husband and father. He was also highly involved in the community and served as a football coach and mentor to many. He was also a prominent member of the VFW. Lou was an avid sportsman with a love of trout fishing and hunting. He was also extremely well read and astute in world economies, investing and real estate. Lou was also a faithful Roman Catholic.
Lou has left behind many wonderful memories for his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.
