Marguerite was born on September 7, 1941, in Weatherford, Texas to Frank Henry Kubelka and Emily Catherine Dolezal Kubelka. The family would soon move to Bardwell, Texas where she would eventually become the oldest of five siblings. During her youth she attended and graduated from St. John Catholic School in Ennis, Texas. Marguerite spent many years cotton picking, farming, and tending to the family before moving to Dallas. She was always a “city girl”.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Marguerite also had the honor of listening to her amazing stories and looking at the beautiful pictures of all her wonderful travels. To say she loved to travel would be an understatement. Plane, train, or ship she was always ready to plan her next adventure. Switzerland, Russia, Amsterdam, the Czech Republic, different states in the US, and so many Asian countries just to name a few of her many interesting destinations.
Her love for travel was so prevalent that she carried that love into her career choice. As an executive secretary for Braniff International Airways and Singapore Airlines she had thirty plus years dealing hands on with the airlines. After Singapore Airlines, she proficiently managed the office for Texas Raceway in Kennedale, Texas. She continued to diligently work full time up until her diagnosis of stage IV colon cancer. She was given three years but strong and determined, she battled it fiercely for seven years.
Marguerite was a caring and giving mom and an amazingly “cool” loving grams. She will be missed for her crazy questions, her enjoyment for going “bumming”, and her unique way of telling YOU how the cow ate the cabbage. But what will be missed most was her unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Marguerite was proceeded in death by her husband, Ronald Patterson; father, Frank Kubelka: mother, Emily Kubelka; brother, Michael Kubelka.
She is survived by her children Melissa Patterson, Stephanie and Troy Wood. Grandchildren Courtney and Jeremy Cole, John Wood. Great Grandchildren Hunter Cole and Colton Cole. Siblings, many nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.
