Thinking about you today. Your sister is a piece of work — I wish you could’ve met her; she’d drive you crazy too. For your birthday, we placed all the beautiful flowers into the lake along the sand and watched the waves carry them into the sunrise. We love you!

I remember your first time trick or treating like it was yesterday. You were a beautiful little bee while mommy was your keeper. I was a last minute scientist (just got off of work and threw it together). But you had such a great time and we even let you open 2 lollipops at once. Also I didn’t get to wish you a happy birthday on 10.06 so happy 9th birthday my love. I miss you and wish you were here w/ baby Nova.

Today makes 6yrs w/o your beautiful smile and loving antics. You’re now a big sister to a beautiful baby girl named Nova Leilani West. You’d be soo good at being a big sister. I love you baby. - Dad

We know you would’ve loved it and that you were there in spirit. We will be going back home to Wisconsin soon. Not gonna be the same without you but you will be with us in spirit. Happy Birthday my love. Today is a special birthday. Today is not only your 6th but also your golden birthday. I really wish you were here with mommy and me. We really miss you. This is the birthday where we go all out for you. It would’ve been a massive turnout. All of your friends and family would’ve come. Me and mom are still celebrating with your family via FaceTime. We also have an ice cream cake as well. We love you and really miss you dearly and I’d give anything to spend this day with you. Until we meet again my love 😘. 

Here we are again love. Another long year without you. Each and every day you cross my mind and I’d give anything to hear your voice. I still remember all the late nights we shared and early mornings. Your smile when you woke up and came to me to make you breakfast while mommy was away at work. The one thing I miss the most is when we would both be away at work and you’d be with your aunt all day, and when I’d come up to get you I can tell you missed me. You’d have the biggest smile and run to me and just be full of excitement like you just couldn’t wait to see us again. I knew you loved me and mommy soo much in that moment. I miss you baby and I can’t wait until the day I see you again. 

Hey love, I can’t believe it’s been an entire year since you’ve left mine and mommies side. I really hope you’re enjoying all the pools and parks of heaven. But I really wish you were here to enjoy those things with us. It’s not a day that goes by where we don’t think of you. We finally decided to watch Wreck it Ralph 2 for the 1st time as we thought of you yesterday. We don’t really watch kids films anymore because it’s not the same without you. But hey, guess what... The Trolls are going on tour. That’s right it’s a second movie coming and I know you’d of loved to go see it. So me and mommy won’t see it either because we’d need you. Anyway baby girl, just want you to know I love you ❤️😘 

Me and August were pregnant with our little girls at the same time, I was just a couple of months ahead of her. Miss Sophia and my Brooke are only 3 months apart, maybe a little less. I remember shortly after I had Brooke we went to the zoo and August was still pregnant with princess Sophia. And I remember when my step mom Angie told me that she’d been born. I was sooo apt for Augie and sooo thrilled to meet her. She was a precious little girl and had a heart of gold. She loved hard and was loved by MANY.!! She grew with my Brooke for a little under the first year of their lives before we all went about our lives and moved on to better places (their move to Texas, and mine to the Dells/Janesville). Even so I always watched how she grew through Augie and Stacey. She was becoming sooo smart. And her chewy cry that she had was the most adorable thing ever.!! I still look at pictures from her and my daughter playing together as they grew. Or of them being so tiny they couldn’t play yet so they just laid next to each other in the pack and play or on grandpas and nanas bed. There are so many memories, I could go on and on; but, I’ll stop here before I write an entire book. You will forever be remembered miss Sophia. And we all miss and love you dearly.!! We will celebrate your life in the midst of this tragedy and pray you are watching over us. I love you baby girl. ❤️🥰😭😭😭

I was so happy when your mom came into Stacey life. Then you came along and you both completed his happiness. You’re little big smile lit his heart up. And seeing him that happy was rare. But you made it possible.  Then when I finally met you that same smile gave me baby fever all over again. When Christmas time came around I didn’t know what to get you but I wanted it to be perfect just like you.  So finally I called Stacey and asked and he said you loved minions. So I found the perfect minion toy. I FaceTimed Stacey just to see you play with it and u loved it. U were so happy with it. Even though I couldn’t understand what u or the minion was saying that same smile expressed so much joy. Love you always my lil minion ❤️

Sophia, I remember your Mom finding out you were a girl and deciding what to name you. She knew she wanted Sophia for your first name and she told me she was thinking about your middle name being Lynn after your Aunt Jenie.  When your mommy told me that I said “that’s my middle name”. She said that is even better and Sophia Lynn would be your name. I know you were named after Aunt Jenie but I was always proud to know you had part of my name too. You were always sweet and even though we didn’t spend much time together I always felt you were a part of me because I always adored your mother and knew any part of her was a part of me. 
I remember what a great first birthday she had for you and told her how lucky you were to have her as your mother and Stacy as your father.  Please watch over them. You are truly there guardian angel 👼. Even though you had such a short time here with us you will always be in our hearts. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you and your Mommy.  May God bless you my sweet baby girl. 

Hi sunshine. Sitting here thinking about when u 1st moved in with me. You were so happy. You were a chunky little baby. I remember when ur mommy/daddy help u make ue 1st ginger bread house xmas omari ate most of the candy but it turned out perfect just like u. Baby girl just continue to watch over your mom/dad they miss u so much. I love u and till we meet again R.I.H ❤❤❤

Precious Sophia May you continue to Rest in heaven so sorry that your mommy and daddy had to experience this pain but I know you’re in heaven and you are their Guardian Angel  I watch the videos and pictures that are post of you and you were such a happy Baby ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I miss you soo much my love. I remember everything about you. From your 1st hospital bath after being born to teaching you how to walk in my living room. And then I moved you to TX w/ me. You and mommy have never left WI ever and we packed up as a family and left. We now have a new place and you’re the only thing missing. I really wish you were here with us. You’d love it and we’re near a park. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do just to see you and hear you again. I watch videos and look at pictures almost daily because I was with you every night when mommy worked. I still stay up late like we used to but I’m getting a little better at going to bed on time. Also me and mommy struggle watching any of your animated movies and we still haven’t. It’s hard for us to comprehend why you had to leave us soo soon.  I just wanted to let you know how much I missed you. Love always, Your Dad. 

How at the august birthday bash I held you and we started making noises with our lips and you started plucking my lips with your fingers to make me make noise and you laughed so hard was so precious to me.

Miss Sophia and the lovely August and Stacey always coming to visit and being able to watch her grow into a beautiful young lady. She holds a spot in my heart that will never fade. 

Marshmallow!!

The first time I seen you, I was instantly drawn to your fluffiness, cuteness and all that hair in your face!! Lol The first name that came into my head was Marshmallow because you were too irresistible, sweet and it was as if you melted in my arms. I didn’t get the pleasure of meeting you sooner but I had the honor of knowing. You blended in with the rest of the kids, which was crazy, chaotic, annoying, lovable, joyable, nervewrecking  but more then anything delightful.  The last time we spoke is when I came home from Vegas and you were running around, banging on the floor and pretending to read a book. You were in your own world but as soon as I brought the M&M candy dispenser out, you were all up in my face.. Lol. By this time you were forming whole sentences! You just looked at me crazy but I knew you wanted some of my M&M’s. I wasn’t going to just give them to you because I wanted you to talk me... Lol. I asked you if you wanted some candy and you shook your head. I said Shopie say, “ Can I have some please” and you repeated it back word from word. You ate your candy then kept it moving. I was satisfied because you didn’t completely ignore me.  I cracked up laughing. It still seems so surreal and I’m lost for words. I don’t want to be faced with reality, I try to avoid it all.  I wish we could have spent more time together but I guess we can’t have it our way all the time. I really regret that and it kills me daily.  I will forever cherish my last memory with you because it was warm and genuine. I love you and save me a spot! I look forward to asking you what were reading when that book was upside down the whole time. Writing this message to you has given me closure. Thank you.
