Willy was born in Grand Prairie, Texas on October 11, 1949. He lived most of his life in Irving, Tx and the surrounding Dallas area. He grew up in a family of 10 kids but had to grow up fast, leaving his house at age 15 years old.
At 17 years old he enlisted with the United State Army and fought in Vietnam war as a Telecommunications Sergeant E5 and received his GED. After returning from war he began working at the DFW airport for GTE which eventually became Verizon as telephone tech. After working 36 years, Willy retired.
Willy loved serving and helping others. He volunteered for over 25 years with his wife Paula Baxter at MacArthur Baptist Church in the children’s ministry. He also volunteered as leader with the Royal Ambassadors boys’ group that taught boys to become Christian Men and develop outdoor skills.
Willy was known for always being busy; working on projects around his house, helping family and friends out with anything, always problem-solving and fixing things for others, and adapting his house for his wife to have quality life and comfort.
There are not many people with a servant’s heart as big as Willy who have a tenacity and fearlessness to take of tough jobs, tasks, or project for others. The world will never be the same without him and he will be incredibly missed. He is survived by Paula Baxter his wife of 44 years; his children Robbye Foerster, West Baxter, Blake Baxter; granddaughter Ryanne Hernandez; and many loving family members and friends.
