Annette Bassen

BASSEN--Annette F. devoted wife of the late Harold Bassen for 62 years, died peacefully on January 31, 2017, at 92 years of age. Loving and beloved mother of Ned (Susan) and Cecile (David); grandmother of Isaac (Michelle), Amanda (Bart), Susannah, and Eli (Melissa); great-grand- mother of Arianna, Victoria, Dahlia, and Ava. Graduate of Brooklyn College and Hofstra University (graduate school). Dedicated teacher and guidance counselor in NYC public schools. A wonderful woman, brilliant, devoted, and giving to her family, friends and community. She was President of the Lakeville Section of the National Council of Jewish Women, and was given NCJW's highest honor, the Hannah G. Solomon Award, which is given to an individual who has changed the lives of others through her leadership efforts and service. Services will be held at Riverside-Nassau North Chapels, 55 N. Station Plaza, Great Neck, NY on Thursday, February 2, at 1pm. Friends may call from 5pm Thursday afternoon and evening at North Shore Towers, 27010 Grand Central Parkway, Building 2, Floral Park, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations to NCJW, 475 Riverside Drive, Suite 1901, New York, NY 10115 would be gratefully appreciated.
