

TRAVIS - Arlene Carey, of Manhasset, New York, formerly of Great Neck, New York, passed away on July 24, 2017 surrounded by family and her two best friends. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Larry, of Manhasset, previously of Kings Point, NY. Arlene was a teacher, artist, preservationist and business woman. In 1974, she founded Mansions & Millionaires, Inc. with friend Carole Aronson. For forty-one years, they managed and coordinated over 50 Designers' Showcases which helped preserve North Shore Gold Coast Mansions and raised funds for many charities. Loving mother to sons Steven (Robin) of Atlanta, GA and Peter (Edwina) of Port Washington. Cherished grand-mother to Tyler, Nicole, Dustin and Daniel. Sister to Sheila (Bernard) Teig, William (Ruthann) Carey, Berton (Brenda) Carey, and sister-in-law Marlene Carey, whose husband Richard is deceased. Arlene was loved by many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial service will be held at Riverside Nassau North Chapels, Great Neck on July 27 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either Alzheimer's Research or Hospice Care Network.
