Irina Yefimov

Irina Yefimov (1937-2023) was born in St. Petersburg (former Leningrad), Russia. Her parents were Max and Rosa Rubenchik. After graduating from medical school, Irina worked as a General Practitioner and then directed a Cardiac Rehabilitation Center. She married Rem Yefimov (d. 1991) and their daughter Alla was born in 1961. The family emigrated to the United States in 1979 and settled in New York, where Irina practiced as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. Additionally, she was licensed in Chinese acupuncture for pain management. In retirement, Irina divided her time between living in Manhattan and Lido Beach, NY. She was passionate about music, especially opera, and travel. She is survived by her daughter Alla Efimova, grandson Samuel Shteinberg, and partner Nick Sidiropoulos.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mt Hebron Cemetery, 130-04 Horace Harding Expy,, Flushing, NY 11367 followed by interment at Mt Hebron Cemetery , 130-04 Horace Harding Expy,, Flushing, NY 11367.
