Throughout her life, Joan was admired by all those who knew her for her strength, selflessness, style, and grace. Joan was an accomplished potter, creator of elaborate doll houses, and culinary magician. She participated in numerous philanthropic endeavors including the Great Neck Visiting Nurse Association, Visiting Home Health Services of Nassau County, and Meals on Wheels. Most importantly, Joan was dedicated to her family and was an iconic mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband George, her sister Linda (Stillman), and her son Richard. She is survived by her son David and daughter Robin (Richard); grandchildren Alex (JiaJia) and Eliana (Josh); and great grandchildren Alita, Cora, and Isla.
Her presence will be greatly missed but her legacy will live on through the lives that she touched. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jewish Family Service LA.
A graveside service will be held at Mount Ararat Cemetery, located at 1165 NY-109, Lindenhurst, NY 11757, on July 7, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
