

2018, at the age of seventy-seven. Matt and his wife of over fifty-three years, Maureen
(Lubinsky), who survives him, have been longtime residents of Roslyn, New York.
Born in the Bronx to Julius and Gertrude (Fox) Neiman on February 14, 1941, and raised in
Parkchester, Matt graduated from the Bronx High School of Science in 1957, Adelphi College in
1961, and the New York University College of Dentistry in 1965. He and Maureen (Rene)
married on June 27, 1965, and headed for Texas where he served as a captain in the Army at
Fort Hood until 1967. Afterwards, Matt opened his dental practice in Port Washington, New
York, serving the community until his retirement in 2011.
Matt is also survived by his son Daniel A. Neiman and his wife Peggy (Glanzman) of Ardsley,
New York, and Dan’s beloved sons Jesse Carlos and Drew Maddox. Matt is also survived by
his daughter Karen Emily and her husband Nathan C. Jones of Rockaway, New Jersey, and
their loving children Noah Campbell and Lucy Grace. Matt is also survived by his brother
Magistrate Judge Kenneth P. Neiman and his wife Janice Dumond Neiman of Northampton,
Massachusetts, his brothers-in-law Marvin Lubinsky and his wife Mary of Richardson, Texas,
Timothy L. Lubinsky and his wife Jane of Charlotte, North Carolina, and David Lubinsky of
Clearwater, Florida, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. As importantly, Matt is
survived by many former colleagues and a large number of friends who have known him for his
kindness, his compassion, his counsel, his love and, perhaps most of all, by his wit.
Services will be held at Riverside-Nassau North Chapel in Great Neck at 1:00 p.m. on January
2, 2019, followed by interment at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, New York. In lieu of flowers,
the family asks that contributions in Matt’s honor be made to the Make a Wish Foundation
(Wish.org).
