Vilma, a warm and loving cousin. 
Vilma and Mike give me the warm home in America, which I severely lacked after moving from Israel.
May her soul be elevated and blessed in heaven.

I just heard about Vilma's death today, from my cousin, who was also Vilma's
cousin on the other side of his family. Vilma and I hadn't spoken in a while but I had planned to call her tonight to wish her a happy New Year. I have memories 
of Vilma that go back to our teens, when she first came to the US and I showed her around NYC.

Dear Ed, Renee, and Lily,

Vilma's passing took away one of the oldest and dearest family members: Vilma and I grew up in Vienna and have known one another since the earliest times being just a few years apart in age.  Our families saw one another quite often: Vilma's father was actually a nephew of my father despite the relatively small difference in age between Vilma and me. I shall miss her very much.

Like my sister Susie and my cousin Emily (and perhaps also
my cousin Paul), I last saw Vilma at Uncle Fritz's 90th 
birthday party. But I can think of a number of other happy
family occasions in earlier years when Mike and Vilma's
presence made the occasion even happier for me. They
were sweet and generous and comforting to talk to. May their memory be a blessing.

My brother, Paul Rohrlich, shared the sad news about Vilma.  I have happy memories of visiting Mike, Vilma, and Ed when I was very young, at their home in Great Neck; it was a welcoming place. Like Susie Rohrlich, I last saw Vilma at my dad's 90th birthday party; dad and I collected Vilma at the airport that weekend and I helped her get settled at the hotel prior to the party. We spent some time together that afternoon, sharing stories about Mike.  I was struck again by her remarkable spirit and warmth.  
May your memories sustain you at this sad time.

I was so sorry to hear of Vilma's passing from Paul Rohrlich, just now.  The last time I saw Vilma was at Fritz Rohrlich's 90th birthday party, where I enjoyed sitting at the same table with her.  I loved her stories, both about the family and times back in Vienna and also here, and her ever keen interest in and openness to anything any of us in the family had to share.  She was really a sweet, loving, and genuine person.  I will always treasure memories of both Vilma and Mike.  I send my condolences to the family and wish you comfort in the fond memories of shared life and love.  I am attaching some pictures from Fritz's celebration.

Dear Edward, Renee, and Lily;

I just heard from my father Fritz that your dear mother Vilma passed away on Thursday.  My deepest sympathies, as she was a very dear person to me, too, as was your beloved father Mike.  While Uncle Mike we saw nearly monthly when I grew up, as he travelled upstate New York on business, Aunt Vilma was always a joy to see on our New York CIty trips, or out on Long Island.  She always impressed me by her calm and kindness, with an easy laugh and a wonderful smile.  As one of my father's few boyhood cousins from Vienna who survived the war, Vilma experienced much in life, and was among the dearest of my parents' relations, from before they were even married.   She will always live in my heart and memory for her generosity and welcome when my wife Susan and I visited her on Long Island with our newborn son, Noah.  She was the very definition of a "mensch".  We grieve her passing, but I am sure she is with our favorite Uncle Mike, folk dancing in Heaven.  

I regret we haven't been in closer contact, but please accept our condolences and we wish you peace.
