Alberta Bertha Rivera

Alberta “Bertha” Rivera (Alvarez) of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away on July 14, 2016. She was born in Reedville, Texas to Eulalio and Beatrice Alvarez (Garcia). Bertha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Bertha had a strong work ethic. She was a supervisor at Western Foods for over 20 years, and also worked for Aspen Enterprise for 35 years. Most recently she enjoyed being retired taking care of her grandchildren and being a housewife. Bertha loved to get together with her family and friends to reminisce about memories past. She loved listening to her favorite oldies music, especially CCR. Bertha was a wonderful cook and loved to share her delicious treats with loved ones. Bertha is preceded in death by her parents, Eulalio and Beatrice Alvarez; brothers, Pete Alvarez, Ysidoro Gutierrez; sisters, Donna Ortiz (Alvarez), Jeanie Esquivel (Alvarez). Bertha is survived by her husband Juan Manuel Rivera; brothers, Israel Alvarez (Eleanor), Guadalupe Alvarez (Andrea), Richard Alvarez; sisters, Irene Morin (Robert), Gloria Alvarez (Juan), Yolanda Martinez (Jimmy); children, Terrie Sandoval (Dan), Kathleen Swan (James), Johnny Sanchez Rivera (Korrin), Joel Sanchez Rivera; grandchildren, Daniel Sanchez Gamino, Michael Gamino, Lawrence Sandoval, James Swan III, Jalen Swan, Jomar Swan, Jeremiah Swan, Jakob Swan, John Sanchez Rivera, Jr., Alliyah Sanchez, Adrianna Navarro, Jaylie Payne, Jalysa Payne; great-grandchildren, Larissa Sifuentes, Ailani Sanchez, Daniela Sanchez. Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Fort Collins, Colorado, on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. Contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W.
